BTIB distributes Enless sensors, receivers, and gateways designed for building management systems. System integrators can find Enless wireless solutions in a catalog specializing in automation, monitoring, and the Niagara ecosystem.
This collaboration combines Enless’s expertise in radio technology with the technical support that BTIB provides to professionals in the smart building industry.
Who is BTIB?
BTIB is an independent distributor specializing in open solutions for smart buildings. The company supports system integrators and service providers in their monitoring and automation projects.
Since 2002, BTIB has been distributing Tridium solutions, among other products, and has been providing sales, training, and technical support for the Niagara Framework to its partners in France and French-speaking countries. This information is available on BTIB's "About Us" page.
A partnership between BTIB and Enless launched in 2019
The partnership between BTIB and Enless Wireless began in 2019 with the integration of 169 MHz Wireless M-Bus sensors into BMS architectures using JACE controllers and the Niagara Framework.
The BTIB teams had developed a library that enabled the decoding of Enless frames and facilitated their use in Niagara.
Since then, the Enless product line has evolved to include LoRa and LoRaWAN technologies. The BTIB catalog now lists the new generations of sensors, as well as the LoRa Easy receivers and the Enless LoRaWAN gateway.
Which Enless products are available at BTIB?
The Enless Wireless page in the BTIB catalog features solutions for environmental control, energy monitoring, and building management.
Ambient Sensors
In particular, system integrators can find:
- Temperature and humidity sensors
- CO₂ sensors
- Light and motion sensors
- Door and Window Open-Closed Sensors
- The Enless LoRaWAN Thermostatic Valve
These products can be used to monitor comfort, air quality, and occupancy conditions.
Technical Sensors and Metering
The product line also includes equipment for:
- Temperature Monitoring
- Remote meter reading
- Pulse Counting
- The return of dry contacts
- Leak Detection
- 4–20 mA Signal Acquisition
- Control of relays and equipment
These sensors make it possible to collect field data without having to run a new communication cable to each measurement point.
Receivers and gateways
BTIB offers several solutions for retrieving data from Enless sensors:
- The LoRa Easy Modbus RX MODBUS 500-302 Receiver
- The LoRa Easy BACnet RX BACNET 500-312 Receiver
- The LoRa Easy HTTP RX HTTP 500-322 Receiver
- The LoRaWAN Gateway RX LORAWAN 500-602
The choice depends on the number of sensors, the protocol required by the BMS , and the desired level of openness.
How do I integrate Enless sensors into Niagara?
Data from Enless sensors can be integrated into a Niagara architecture via a receiver or a gateway.
Modbus Integration
The RX MODBUS receives data from up to 50 Enless LoRa Easy sensors and converts it into a Modbus table. The values can then be read by a PLC or a Niagara station equipped with the corresponding driver.
This architecture is suitable for projects seeking a local solution that is easy to configure and based exclusively on Enless sensors.
BACnet Integration
The RX BACnet converts sensor data into BACnet objects. It supports both BACnet IP and BACnet MS/TP interfaces.
Devices can then be discovered and added to the monitoring tree. Network settings, Device IDs, and sensor instances can be configured from the receiver, as described in the RX BACNET GitBook guide.
HTTP Integration
The HTTP RX transmits sensor data as HTTP POST requests to an endpoint. This method allows information from multiple sensors to be consolidated into a single JSON stream.
A Niagara 4 driver for the Enless HTTP receiver has also been developed using SmartNode. It simplifies sensor identification and the creation of points in Niagara, without requiring any specific JSON processing.
Integration with the LoRaWAN gateway
For larger or multi-brand projects, the Enless LoRaWAN gateway is another option. It includes its own LNS and can manage up to 500 LoRaWAN sensors.
Enless sensors are decoded natively. Codecs and mapping must be added for third-party sensors. The data is then prepared for integration into the BMS via Modbus or BACnet, depending on the firmware deployed.
The configuration and interfaces are described in detail in the GitBook guide for the Enless LoRaWAN gateway.
LoRa Easy or LoRaWAN: Which Architecture Should You Choose?
The two architectures serve different purposes.
Choose LoRa Easy
LoRa Easy is suitable when:
- The project uses only Enless sensors
- The number of sensors is 50 or fewer per receiver
- We are looking for Modbus, BACnet, or HTTP integration
- Ease of deployment is a priority
Choose LoRaWAN
Private LoRaWAN is more suitable when:
- The project includes a large number of sensors
- Equipment from multiple manufacturers must be able to operate together
- There is a call for an open LoRaWAN standard
- The LNS must be directly integrated with the gateway
- Architecture must be able to evolve
Enless explains the differences between these two approaches on its pages dedicated to LoRa Easy and LoRaWAN.
Why buy Enless products from BTIB?
The inclusion of the Enless product line in the BTIB catalog allows system integrators to bring together the following within a single commercial ecosystem:
- Sensors and Radio Gateways
- Controllers and PLCs
- Niagara Licenses
- Drivers and integration tools
- Support for professionals in the BMS
Since product availability may change, delivery times and stock levels should be checked directly in the BTIB catalog at the time of ordering.
