March 11, 2022, was a historic day for Chile, marked by the presidential inauguration. The ceremony was conducted under strict security and health protocols, with pandemic-related risks managed with precision.
The Chilean government has engaged NexClima, a Chilean integrator specializing in energy efficiency, to measure and automate air quality monitoring in the Hall of Honor of the Chilean National Congress, located in Valparaíso, where the presidential inauguration ceremony took place during which Gabriel Boric assumed office as President of the Republic. Enless Wireless and IndoorClima provided the hardware and software solutions.
The solution
In partnership with the Spanish integrator IndoorClima, provider of the SG AirQ data visualization platform, 12 Enless Wireless LoRa wireless CO2, temperature, and humidity sensors were installed at strategic locations within the Hall, both in front of the presidential and senatorial honor guard and on the first floor, as well as in the galleries in the east, west, and central sections of the Congress.
The goal of the system was to ensure that CO2 levels in the air were strictly controlled at all times during the ceremony, thereby eliminating the risk of overcrowding and the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Thanks to this arrangement, a total of nearly 500 guests had the opportunity to witness this historic presidential transition in Chile.
The installation process was very straightforward, as Haris Khattak of IndoorClima explains: “The first step was to conduct a site survey to determine how many Enless Wireless devices needed to be deployed (CO₂ transmitters and a Modbus receiver).” Next, we had to check for potential interference within the building to ensure reliable, long-term transmission of data from the transmitters to the Modbus receiver. Finally, NexClima’s technical teams configured the devices with ease and positioned them in strategic locations with minimal natural airflow.”

The various CO2 levels detected by the Enless Wireless sensors are then transmitted via a private LoRa wireless network to the Enless Wireless Modbus receiver and monitored in real time during the official ceremony through the SG AirQ platform provided by IndoorClima.
When CO2 levels rose significantly, ventilation systems were activated to ensure optimal air quality for everyone and to mitigate health risks.

And in the long run?
Equipment installed at various locations throughout the Chilean National Congress will helpoptimize the use of HVAC systems by collecting data on temperature, humidity, and CO2 levels provided by Enless Wireless LoRa sensors.
This will make it possible to ensure proper ventilation at all times while reducing energy consumption by at least 15%, a goal set by IndoorClima.
IndoorClima plans to continue expanding the use of Enless Wireless devices in the retail, hotel, school, restaurant, and other building sectors.
NexClima, for its part, reports that it has also installed Enless air quality sensors at several locations, including the Plaza El Bosque Hotel in eastern Santiago, and as part of an unprecedented air quality monitoring project at the Rebeca Matte public school in the municipality of Renca, also in the city of Santiago.
